Human Rights

A Brief Description

"Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world," begins the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and over sixty years later, its promise and ambition has yet to be fulfilled.

There are citizens and peoples around the world, regardless of their countries' level of development or democracy, whose basic human rights are trampled upon by their governments or fellow citizens. Although technology and social media has made blatant violations more difficult to hide, there are those who still violate and oppress without impunity.
